日本人は昔から自然を愛し、風情を楽しむ文化を大切にしてきました。お花見やお月見、紅葉狩りといったものは日本独特の文化でしょう。

 

秋の紅葉狩りは春のお花見ほど外国人に知られていませんが、美しい日本の紅葉の景色は、日本文化に興味のある外国人にとってはとても魅力的に映ることでしょう。

 

紅葉は英語で「autumn leaves」「autumn foliage」「fall leaves」「fall foliage」などと言います。

 

主にイギリスでは 「autumn」アメリカでは 「fall」が一般的に使われていますがどちらでも通じます。ただ、紅葉についてはアメリカでも「autumn」を使うことが多いようです。
