上皇陛下が2019年4月30日に生前退位され、5月1日には徳仁新天皇が即位しました。
そして改元により新元号が決まり、2019年は日本の皇室・天皇家にとって大きなイベントのある年です。
生前退位、即位、元号、などを英語で説明するにはどう表現すればいいでしょうか？
我々日本人は天皇は日本の象徴であると習い、天皇家に関するニュースも沢山見てきました。
そのため、日本人の間では説明する必要がない当たり前のことです。
しかし、外国人にとっては全く分からず不思議なことなのです。
日本人として最低でも教科書的な説明はできるようにしておきたいものですよね。
今回は天皇の即位にまつわるフレーズを20選集めました。

第二次世界大戦後、天皇は新憲法の下で日本の象徴になりました。
